KRISTINA BENNETT, SMOOTH JAZZ AND BRAZILIAN MUSICComing from a very musically oriented family (mother being a singer, dad a dancer and my uncle playing every instrument he laid his hands on) it was clear that music is in my blood. Starting at age 6 in a children's radio choir, at 14 - 20 touring with a professional choir Young Hearts (Ifju Szivek), at 17 leaving school to sing with a band in Switzerland was just the beginning of my music career.
In 1994 I joined PMP ProMixProduction to land a hand in creating songs for upcoming musicians and bands. In 1996 they asked me to record my own album called SOUL OF LOVE under the stage name Chris Lawal. The new album was first introduced at the televised music competition ROCK FM FEST that hosted 400 artists. I was one of the 12 finalist, my song "LADY DRACULA" winning the competition. Two of my songs were published on 2 compilation CD as well (Don't let me down on Top Hity Leto1 in 1996 , and Lady Dracule on Top Hity 2 in 1997). There came a time when Slovakia wasn't big enough anymore and I wanted to see the world. I spent 8 months in London enjoying the music scene and ended up in the USA in 1997 playing with several bay area bands like Touch of Class, Jump City, Attitude, Phanorama, Rudy & the Funky Coalition and 2 Delicious. Not long ago I met some amazing musicians in the Bay Area who introduced me to smooth jazz and brazilian music. Today I am performing with these gifted musicians around the Bay-Area singing smooth brazilian tunes and enjoying the world out of it. Website: http://www.kristinahbennett.com |
