JOE MCKINLEY TRIO

Consisting of Sam Cady on Piano, Joe McKinley on bass and Alexey Berlind on drums, have performed in various contexts in the Bay Area for a combined duration of more than 100 years.  Individually our versatility has enabled us to play in every imaginable setting, from pit orchestras to night clubs to the occasional circus.  Our great love, however, is jazz and this has found us studying and playing with many of the greats in this music.  Some examples locally, to name a few, are John Handy, Art Khu and Noel Jewkes.  On a nationally recognized level the list would include Mike Clark, Ray Brown and Joe Henderson.  Zingari Ristorante has provided us with a remarkable venue in which this uniquely American music is encouraged by management and patrons alike.  Not only does jazz have a great tradition in the Bay Area, it also has a future thanks to Zingari.
