In most restaurants the tip you leave on your bill goes to either your server alone or is pooled among all the servers but not to any other Associates. By including a 20% service charge we are able to distribute that money to everyone who is part of the restaurant including the hardworking cooks, bussers, and dishwashers who we feel are also an important part of your overall dining experience.
Half of the 20% service charge goes to your server. The other half is used to provide a living wage to all of our Associates. Know that we do not charge a ‘benefits surcharge’, as is common practice at many restaurants in San Francisco, though we do offer health coverage for full-time Associates.
Our goal is to provide our guests with friendly, efficient and gracious service. If you feel that your experience has been lacking in any way, we encourage you to do one of two things: (1) Please ask for a manager who can address your concerns immediately. (2) Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your comments / concerns and we will address them within one business day.
